Tournament Rules & Regulations

  • All anglers shall read, understand, and sign the waiver / release prior to tournament hours. 
  • This tournament allows lures only
  • No pooling or combining fish with another team.
  • Anglers can have up to 4 contestants per boat. Guides are allowed and can fish during the tournament and are counted as one out of the four.
  • The stringer will include 2 live slot redfish.   
  • Only fish within the TPWD slot limit may be weighed in.
  • This is a team event, only fish caught by the paid entrants on the team can be used for weigh in. No pooling or sharing of fish
  • There will be no “Burning” defined as motoring slowly or on plane of a fishing area where any other fisherman is fishing or wading. This will result in immediate disqualification.
  • All anglers are suggested to wear a USCG approved Personal Flotation Device “PFD” anytime the main engine is turned on.
  • Every boat captain is responsible for meeting all USCG and TPWD rules and regulations.
  • There is a mandatory Captains meeting the Thursday night before the tournament. At least 1 member of the team is required to check in at the meeting.
  • Every person on the boat of age to require a TPWD fishing license must be in possession of a current license.   
  • Any contestant found to be cheating will be disqualified from the FHF and legal ramifications may result from cheating. All winnings and entry fees will be forfeited by any contestant caught cheating.
  • No altering of fish is allowed. Any stiff or frozen fish may not be weighed in. This will be determined by the weigh master.
  • Any protest of anglers cheating must be put into writing and accompanied by $250. Refundable if protest is found to have truth and merit.
  • Polygraph test will be done randomly for the top winning teams.   
  • This is a one day event with scales opening at 2 P.M and closing at 3 P.M. After that no fish may be turned in. You must be in line by 3 P.M in order to weigh your fish in.
  • Side pot fish will consist of one trout closest to 21 and redfish with the most spots. Redfish can be used in your 2 fish
  • During this event no wake zones are strictly enforced. 
  • There will be no help during the tournament for contestants on the water from anyone associated with the FHF. Contestants assume responsibility for themselves and by signing the wavier release the FHF and its sponsors of anything including and not limited  to bodily harm, death, dismemberment, loss of personal items, damage to boats, trucks, trailers and electronic equipment  before, during and after the tournament.
  • This is a Fundraiser event and all proceeds go directly to the family or   organization of choice, handpicked by the board of FHF.
